Access to the conference

General procedure when arrived on Lille:

Centrale Lille is located in Villeneuve D'Ascq, a city that is attached to the city of Lille and that belongs to the European Metropole of Lille (MEL). Accessing to conference venue is very easy with the metro of Lille. Wherever you come from, head for the Yellow metro line (Line 1) and take the metro in the direction of 4 Cantons - Grand Stade. Stop at the last stop (4 Cantons - Grand Stade). Once outside the metro station (downstairs) turn left. Centrale Lille should be in front of you on the other side of the giratory.

Coming by train:

The easiest way to come to Lille from countries close to France is most probably the train. Trains can stop in Lille in two different train stations, Lille Europe (most probably) and Lille Flandres.

  • If you arrive at Lille Europe take the Red metro line (Line 2, downstairs in the train station), and head for stop Gare Lille Flandre in the direction of St Philibert. Arriving in Gare Lille Flandre, take the Yellow line as indicated in the general procedure.

  • If you arrive by train at Lille Flandres, go to the Yellow metro line downstairs in the train station and follow the general procedure.

Coming by plane:

When taking the plane, you have four options to reach Lille:

  • The first option is to directly take a plane to Lille Airport (Airport IATA Code: LIL) located in Lesquin city. Once at the airport, we recommend you to take the dedicated bus that will lead you to the centrale train station of Lille, Gare Lille Flandres. From there, follow the general procedure by taking the Yellow metro line to reach Centrale Lille. Otherwise,  Gare Lille Flandres can be reached by taxi in approximativelly 20 minutes.

  • The second option is to take a plane to Charles De Gaule airport in Paris (Airport IATA Code: CDG). From there go to the train station nearby and take a train to Lille (Gare Lille Europe, 1h). Once arrived in Gare Lille Europe, follow the general procedure through the Red metro line.

  • The third option is to take a plane to Brussel Zaventem airport (airport IATA Code: BRU). From there, reach the Brussel Zuid train station, and then head to Gare Lille Europe by train (30min). Once arrive in Gare Lille Europe, follow the general procedure through the Red metro line. Noteworthy, you can also take the plane to Brussel Charleroi airport, although we do not recommend it as you will have to reach Lille by bus, in 4h approximativelly.

  • The last option is to go to London and take the Eurostar to Gare Lille Europe (1h30). From there, follow the general procedure through the Red metro line. However, due to the upcoming brexit, we strongly advice you to plan carefully your trip if you head for this option.

Coming by car:

When coming by car, you can directly head for the campus of Cite Scientifique in Villeneuve D'Ascq. A free parking spot is available very near Centrale Lille.
